Product Detail

L-T (L-Theanine) LT

L–T is the major free-form amino acid found in green tea leaves.

L–T produces a tranquilizing effect in the brain without causing drowsiness or dull feelings. Studies reflect L–T increases alpha waves in the brain that produces muscle relaxation and decreases stress-tension pain. To induce relaxation the suggested does of L–T is 1 capsule, and effects are felt within 30 minutes. For more rapid absorption dissolve 1 capsule in water; effects are felt within 20 minutes. One capsule of L–T may be taken, four times daily to maintain continuous mood elevation and relaxation.

L–T has a major role in the formation of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA. A study published in the Journal of Food Science & Technology in 1999 confirms theanine has a significant effect on the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin.

Neurotransmitters are the chemical language of the brain. The study suggested L–T is a safe and effective dietary supplement for natural relaxation—stress, anxiety, and tension pain. Research studies confirm L-theanine’s safety plus there is a long history of green tea consumption.

Suntheanine™ (Theanine) is the trademarked product of Taiyo International, Inc. L–T readily crosses the blood brain barrier and changes brain chemistry in a way that compares to a deep meditative state. Studies demonstrate theanine is a safe, non-toxic, highly effective amino acid that creates alpha waves in the brain. Alpha waves depict the brain’s deep state of relaxation.

Duration of use is not limited, and can be taken daily.

In the Volume 10 1999 issue of Food Science and Technology researchers reported the relaxation effects of L-Theanine (Suntheanine) on humans. Oral intake of L-Theanine in humans caused a feeling of relaxation, and brain waves (EEG) changed to alpha waves in the occipital and parietal parts of the brain. Alpha waves are usually on achieved with deep meditation. The brain waves changed within 40 minutes of ingestion. Dosages ranged between 50 to 200 mg.

L–T has no cautions or drug interactions with the exception of certain chemotherapy agents whereby it enhances the chemotherapy effects.  If you are receiving chemotherapy, check with your doctor.  L-T is not recommended in pregnant or lactating women.

L–T is 99.7% pure pharmaceutical grade.

L–T is not affected by food and may be taken anytime.

L–T can be taken in conjunction with other amino acids such as Anxiety Control®, Brain Link®, BNC, Mood Sync®, and Teen Link®.

If you weigh over 150 pounds, 2 capsules of L–T can be taken at once. B6 or P5’P must be taken daily either in another formula or alone to metabolize L–T or any amino acid. Children 12 years of age and older can use L–T as needed.

The addition of glycine and glutamine to the theanine formula enhances the inhibitory neurotransmitter effects.
